The Seven Noble Tasks is a project designed to instill strength of character in adolescents. During the year, the eighth grade students at Mistletoe Elementary are given the opportunity to complete seven tasks that challenge them physically, emotionally, and mentally. In conquering these obstacles, the students are better equipped to face the challenges they will encounter as they enter adulthood.

The First Noble Task: The Climb
On September 21st, the students visited Cinder Cone in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Though only 700 feet in height, this climb is the most challenging in the park. The students climbed this mountain in cold and snowy conditions. 100% of our students made it to the top!
Cinder Cone is not the last mountain you will climb. Many times in life you will be faced with an obstacle that seems overwhelming. You may take two steps forward and slide back one. You will sweat, ache, and think you can't take one more step. But turn around and see how far you have come. Find a friend to walk alongside and keep going, because the view from the top is always worth it. For accomplishing this noble task, you have earned the right to wear your black bracelet. |
